COVID-19 Safety Guide
Protecting our visitors and employees
Summary of key safety strategies
The health and safety of our staff, volunteers and visitors is our top priority as we welcome people to Sovereign Hill. Our COVID Safe Plan has been developed in line with all federal and state government regulations and has been designed to protect all staff and visitors from potential exposure to COVID-19.
While wearing a facemask will not be mandatory, we recommend wearing one in areas of the museum where maintaining a 1.5 metre physical distance is not possible (ie mine tours).
BEFORE YOU ARRIVE
Please book your Sovereign Hill ticket online. If you are unable to book online, please contact us on 03 5337 1100.
Before leaving home, check our website for latest updates and information. Please be ready to make on-site payments using a contactless bank card rather than cash where possible. If you feel unwell or have any cold or flu-like symptoms, please stay home and visit another day. Please contact our Bookings team at email@example.com to change your booking if needed.
We recommend you maintain a safe, 1.5 metre distance from others, where possible.
SANITISATION & DISINFECTION PROCEDURES
Providing Hand Sanitisation Stations throughout the Museum
All staff and volunteers will use the supplied hand sanitiser before entering the workplace. Hand sanitisation stations have been installed at entry points as directed. We have sanitisation stations throughout the outdoor museum offering free hand sanitisers.
Increased sanitisation and disinfecting services across Sovereign Hill
We have enhanced cleaning measures including disinfecting high frequency touch points, such as tables and chairs, service counters, grab and flush handles, door handles/plates, EFTPOS machines and taps.
Toilet and baby change rooms
We have increased cleaning and disinfecting of all toilets including accessible toilets and baby change room facilities.
Encourage hand sanitisation when participating in rides and experiences
We will provide and encourage the use of hand sanitisers prior to carriage rides.
