Memorial box loan program
Based on health advice the Australian War Memorial has decided to suspend all Memorial Box loans until the end of 2020. The Memorial Box online resources can be found at awm.gov.au/learn/memorial-boxes. These resources link the Memorial Box objects to stories of Australian servicemen and servicewomen and are aimed at a schools audience. Even though the students are now unable to hold the objects, they are able to view high resolution images of all the objects online and learn more about Australians who have served. Further online classroom resources can be found at awm.gov.au/learn/learning-from-home.
The Gold Museum is excited to be the Victorian agent for the Australian War Memorial’s Memorial Box program.
Memorial Boxes are an engaging, interactive learning resource suitable for schools, community groups and aged care facilities. Each thematic box is filled with real and replica uniforms, equipment, artefacts, and more. They are further supported by a range of case studies and activities available online.
The following boxes are available for loan. Click on the link for more detailed information about the specific content of each box.
