On-site catering is provided by Peter Rowland (PRG). Our Standard catering package can have additional items included or you can just order lunch. Our Bookings Team will build your meals times around your museum experiences (Eg. Costumed School, Ed Sessions, Tours & Aura). Lunches can be take-away or sit down. If you pre-order meals we will send you an online link for you to input your dietary requirements prior to you visit.
Can students buy food when we visit for camps and excursion?
You can purchase food from the Hope Bakery, New York Bakery, Modern Café (Prospectors Table) and Main Street shops.
Can we come dressed in costumes to the outdoor museum?
Visiting school groups are not able to wear their own costumes to the museum because costume is an important part of our role and how we interpret the goldrushes. We research it thoroughly and wear it under strict guidelines. Our visitors need to know that the costumed people they meet are staff or volunteers who can help and inform them during their visit. They are trained on how to respond in an emergency, and it is essential that visitors are able to quickly and clearly identify staff whom can help them in an emergency.
