Annual Weston Bate lecture

We are excited to announce the 2024 Weston Bate Memorial Lecture will be held on Thursday 17 October.

Each year in October for an evening of inspiration and enlightenment as we hear the latest research from Australia’s leading historians. 

This annual event celebrates and honours the eminent historian, Weston Bate’s contribution to the researching and writing of local history and the history of Ballarat and the Goldfields.  

It is an absolutely 'not-to-be-missed event' for those that are curious and keen to understand what has come before them and how it affects the present and leads us toward the future.
