The Sovereign Hill Museums Association offers a diverse range of employment opportunities from administrative and senior management roles to front-line positions including customer service, mine guiding, retail assistance, historical interpretation, general services, maintenance and gardening, cleaning and horse handling. All vacancies are advertised on this website. In some instances, vacancies may be advertised on seek.com.au or in Saturday’s edition of ‘The Courier’, Ballarat.
As Sovereign Hill is open 7 days per week, 364 days per year, our committed and dedicated staff work rosters which include weekends, public holidays and school holidays. Our major seasonal recruitment period is the December/January Christmas season. Expressions of interest for this period are sought by advertisement towards the end of each year. Kelly manages over 200 volunteers at Sovereign Hill, who support the interpretive activity of museum, with ‘hands-on’ activities such as demonstrating the use of 19th century domestic and industrial technology, gold panning, horse care, flag making, scrimshaw, gardening, sewing and more.
