Workplace Gender Equality Act
Sovereign Hill is committed to providing equal employment opportunities for all applicants and employees, regardless of race, religion, gender, national origin, age, disability, marital status, or veteran status.
Each year our organisation takes part in the Workplace Gender Equality Agency reporting and we are pleased with our results. The 2024 reporting period resulted in an organisation-wide average total remuneration gender pay gap of 0.7% compared to the Industry Comparison Group of 6.8%. We're proud of our continued efforts in introducing workplace practices that foster gender equality and equity.
We provide equal pay for work of equal or comparable value and we work towards removing any barriers to the full and equal participation of women in the workforce, particularly in relation to family and caring responsibilities.
Supporting employees with family caring responsibilities
Sovereign Hill supports employees with family caring responsibilities, with provisions clearly outlined in our Enterprise Agreement. We offer additional provisions beyond the NES for paid parental leave with Primary carers receiving 12 weeks of paid leave, Secondary carers receiving four weeks and employees adopting we offer four weeks of paid leave.
Promoting gender equality through consultation and communication
Sovereign Hill consults widely with employees and through the Consultative Committee and actively addresses any gender equality matters. Our organisation has a Consultative Committee where we actively discuss workplace matters that affect our team. We have made considerable inroads to ensuring all roles are non-gender specific and have actively communicated our policy on gender equality to the entire organisation. Our commitment is also included in our Enterprise Agreement.
Leadership commitment to gender equality and diversity
Our gender equality and equity practices are led from the top. Our Board of Directors are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive Board reflective of the communities it serves. Through the implementation of a Diversity and Gender Equity Policy, we aim to create a culture of equality, fairness, and opportunity for all members of our organisation.
