To mark Sovereign Hill’s 40th Anniversary, we have created an on-line, digital photo album for your memories of Sovereign Hill. It is open to anyone to upload pictures taken at Sovereign Hill and to share memories as a visitor, staff member or volunteer.
It is a chance to share your memories with the many hundreds of thousands of people who have visited or worked in Sovereign Hill over the last 40 years.
If you visited as a school child, or with your family, or whilst travelling or as a regular visitor, why not share your photographic memories?
The Album is a digital, on-line project, so we can’t accept hard copies of images for this project.
The site will be moderated and any content which is derogatory or embarrassing to any individual, uses inappropriate language or contains inappropriate subject matter, is of poor quality or repetitive, will be removed by the moderator.
The Album will be open for uploading your images until 30 November 2010. It will then be archived for the Sovereign Hill collection.
Contributors can upload, remove or replace their photos as often as they like. Copyright remains with the owner of the image: it does not transfer from the owner of the image to Sovereign Hill. No images will be used commercially or published in any format without the owner’s permission, even when the site is archived.

The Competition
Images uploaded before 1 April will be automatically entered into a competition to pick the best image uploaded in each of these four categories:
- Scenic/Artistic
- Portrait (group or individual)
- Changing Faces (of former staff, volunteers, Board members, etc., on site at Sovereign Hill—in the past and/or now)
- Changing Places (of former buildings, changed buildings, construction of Sovereign Hill through its 40 years, etc., in the past and/or now)
You can upload or tag your images in these groupings to let the judges know the category in which you wish your image to be considered. If you don’t want to group or tag your images in these categories, no problem—the judges will make a judgement of the appropriate category if your image appeals to them as a potential prize-winner.
The judges will be chosen by Sovereign Hill and no correspondence will be entered into. Winners will be announced on the Official Sovereign Hill Facebook Group and the Sovereign Hill Official Flickr Group sites. Prizes in each category will be one of Sovereign Hill’s experience packages.
Sovereign Hill staff and volunteers are eligible to enter.
