Get steamed up at Sovereign Hill!

Join us for an action-packed day of family fun as Sovereign Hill huffs and puffs its way through an action-packed Steam Day with lots of fun for the whole family - in addition to all our regular programs.

All day, from 10.00 am till 5.00 pm, special steam exhibits will include a Ransom steam wagon, traction engines, a steam roller, an 1880 Shand Mason steam fire pump and a collection of around 20 working model steam engines. And, for an amazing photo opportunity, make sure you catch the Grand Parade on Main Street!

Aria winner performs at Sovereign Hill for Multicultural Day.

Sovereign Hill’s refurbished Victoria Theatre will spring to life on Sunday 29 August from 10.30 am as award-winning artists perform as part of the outdoor museum’s Multicultural Day. Headlined by ARIA award-winner, Kavisha Mazzella, the day will feature six performances as part of Sovereign Hill’s year-long 40th anniversary celebrations.

Dinner, Coach and Show

To celebrate Sovereign Hill’s 40th anniversary, the outdoor museum is launching a new evening dinner package for its multi-million dollar Blood on the Southern Cross sound-and-light spectacular. Melbournians can now enjoy an evening at Sovereign Hill with the museum offering free return coach transfers from Federation Square to the Ballarat attraction, to experience the dramatic battle of the Eureka Rebellion, and enjoy a two-course dinner with drinks for $84.00 per person.

Winter School Holiday Fun at Sovereign Hill

Saturday, 26 June to Sunday, 11 July 2010

To keep children entertained (and educated) these school holidays, Sovereign Hill has created an additional program of free daily activities especially for young visitors to its award-winning outdoor museum. From 26 June to 11 July, these will include traditional damper making workshops, pantomimes in the grand Victoria Theatre and the chance to have an insider’s view of real, 19th century steam-driven machinery in action.

Other fun children’s activities include creating your own colourful dipped candle, watching a blacksmith shoe a horse, and of course, panning for real gold!

Programs with locations and booking details can be collected on arrival at the Sovereign Hill entrance.
